2 Land Rover Vehicles to Debut Ingenium Engines

Jaguar Land Rover is excited to announce the 2018 Land Rover Discovery Sport and 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque will both come equipped with Jaguar Land Rover’s all-new 2.0-liter four-cylinder Ingenium petrol engines. These engines will give each vehicle a refined and smooth performance. The Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque are the first Land Rover vehicles to have Jaguar Land Rover’s new petrol Ingenium engines.

The Land Rover Discovery Sport is currently Land Rover’s fastest-selling vehicle. Over 200,000 units have been sold since it debuted in 2014. The new Ingenium engine will give the Discovery Sport power, efficiency, and 35.3 miles/gallon.

The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque made its debut back in 2011. Since then, over 600,000 units have been produced. The new Ingenium engine will be 15 percent more efficient than the Range Rover Evoque’s previous engine and offer 38.7 miles/gallon.

When selecting a Discovery Sport or Range Rover Evqoue for purchase, owners who choose to opt for the Ingenium petrol engine will also receive the Dynamic exterior pack at no additional charge. This extra pack allows for more personalization with luxury finishes to give the vehicle your own flare.

In addition to the petrol engine, Jaguar Land Rover will also have a diesel engine available. The four-cylinder Ingenium diesel engine provides greater levels of torque from low speeds to ensure responsiveness and proper acceleration. The Ingenium diesel engine’s exhaust gas recirculation system reduces pumping losses which increases efficiency and reduces high combustion temperatures. This helps to reduce the NOx from forming in the cylinders.

The new Ingenium petrol and diesel engines will be produced at Jaguar Land Rover’s Engine Manufacturing Center in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom. These are the most advanced engines Jaguar Land Rover has ever designed, engineered, and manufactured. The new Ingenium engines have been made to reduce vehicle emissions and improve fuel economy, keeping with Jaguar Land Rover’s commitment to support more sustainable living.

Land Rover Releases Special Edition Evoque

To celebrate six awesome years of the Land Rover Range Rover Evqoue, Land Rover is releasing a special edition, The Evoque Landmark.

The Range Rover Evoque has had tremendous success for Land Rover. In six years, Land Rover has produced 600,000 units, and the demand for the Range Rover Evoque is still increasing. March 2017 sales reached an all-time high for a single month with almost 18,000 units sold. In addition to its consumer popularity, the Range Rover Evoque has won over 200 awards, making it the most decorated Range Rover model.

The special edition, Evoque Landmark will be available in three different colors, Moraine Blue, Yulong White, and Corris Grey. Moraine Blue, a color designed for luxury, was inspired by the lakes in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.

The Evoque Landmark made its debut at the Royal Windsor Horse Show on May 10. The Landmark Special Edition comes equipped with Land Rover’s latest technology. A 10-inch InControl Touch Pro system includes the Spotify app, a 4G Wi-Fi Hotspot, and a Remote Premium app for a smartphone or smart watch.

The Remote Premium app allows owners to check the status of their Land Rover without stepping foot inside the vehicle. Owners can check the vehicle’s location, whether it is locked or not, the fuel levels, and be able to cool or pre-heat the cabin all from their smartphone or smart watch.

“What makes Evoque so special is its relevance,” Gerry McGovern, Land Rover Chief Design Officer, said. “The design remains modern and fresh. The Evoque is widely acknowledged to have brought a whole new youthful generation of buyers into the Range Rover brand, including more women. Its success was clear from the start and gave us the confidence to break new ground, which you can see with vehicles like the Evoque Convertible. The Landmark Special Edition is a celebration of sex years of success so far.”

Jaguar Land Rover Steals the Show

Jaguar Land Rover made a splash at the Shanghai Motor Show in Shanghai, China! The Land Rover Range Rover Velar and the Jaguar I-PACE Concept made their Chinese debut.

In 2016, Jaguar Land Rover sold almost 120,000 vehicles in China, Jaguar Land Rover’s largest single market. After being a part of the Chinese market for just over a decade, Jaguar Land Rover has over 200 operational retailers, a Land Rover Experience Center, 10 apprentice training programs, and 3 training academies.

“Jaguar Land Rover is a technology company, creating world-class premium cars. Today, we have unveiled two revolutionary new vehicles – the Range Rover Velar and the Jaguar I-PACE Concept,” Dr. Ralf Speth, Jaguar Land Rover CEO, said. “Jaguar Land Rover constantly pushes the boundaries and this spirit is embodied in both of these vehicles. China is of huge importance to us. It is our largest single market and over the past seven years our success and brand influence have been strong not just in terms of sales but in the facilities we have built here and the jobs we have created.”

The Land Rover Range Rover Velar will be built exclusively in the United Kingdom and will be made of Jaguar Land Rover’s incredible lightweight aluminum intensive architecture. The Range Rover Velar will be powered by the latest ultra-clean UK-built Ingenium engines.

The Jaguar I-PACE is Jaguar’s first concept of a performance SUV. Engineers and designers have worked tirelessly to create a vehicle that does compromise Jaguar’s outstanding luxury or performance. The Jaguar I-PACE Concept promises a long-distance range, incredible performance, and quick charging times.

In addition to the reveal of the new vehicles, Jaguar Land Rover has plans to increase the capacity of their Changshu plant by 70,000 vehicles. They also plan to expand existing facilities (like the body shop) and build a new trim and final shop. Currently, the Jaguar XF Long wheelbase, Land Rover Discovery, and Range Rover Evoque are all built at the Changshu plant.

You Could Win a Peruvian Off-Road Aventure

Land Rover will be hosting an off-road competition across the United States to win one of four spots on the Land Rover Experience Tour Peru 2017. During this tour, consumers will be able to drive the new Land Rover Discovery on an action-packed six-day off-road expedition through the Peruvian mountains, jungles, and desert.

The first of the four trials has already taken place at Overland Expo West May 12-14 in Flagstaff, Arizona. The last three winners will be selected from trials taking place at three different Land Rover Experience Driving Centers located at the Quail Lodge in Carmel, California; the Equinox Resort in Manchester, Vermont; and the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina. The trials will take place between June 1 and August 31 on select weekends. You may only enter each trial once.

“Creating this competition to give consumers the chance to win a trip on the Land Rover Experience Tour taking place in Peru this year, provides an opportunity for us to showcase the unique features of the new Land Rover Discovery and engage with adventure minded individuals at our Experience school locations,” Kim McCullough, Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC, Brand VP, said.

The winners will travel in pairs of two to Peru for the Land Rover Experience Tour Peru 2017. The first pair of winners will travel from October 28 to November 3 over 500 miles from Cusco, through Machu Piccu, Pitchari, Satipo, and will end their leg of the trip in Huancayo. Land Rover Supports Three-Day Event

The Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Equestrian Event, Presented by Land Rover, took place April 26-29, 2017. This event combines Dressage, Cross-Country, and the Jumping Test.

After the Cross-Country ride only 39 horses were left to compete in the final challenge, the Jumping Test. This year’s jumping course featured a 2017 Range Rover Sport and a 2017 Range Rover Evoque Convertible, set by Richard Jeffrey. This course proved very difficult. Only four competitors finished clear within the time.

Land Rover Ambassador, representing Great Britain, Zara Tindall, had an excellent round on her 16-year-old bay, High Kingdom. One of the last to go, representing France, Maxime Livio rode the fourth and final clear found of the day with his horse, Qalao Des Mers. Germany’s Michael Jung was last to go on his 12-year-old mare, fischerRocana FST. Jung incurred four faults, but was still able to claim the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event title for the third year in a row. Livio finished second and Tindall finished third.

“fischerRocana FST is a top horse, the mare fights to hard for me and our partnership is so strong,” Jung said. “She gave me a very good feeling the warm up ring which made me feel good entering the arena. I did not have enough power in the triple combination so I was nervous with two jumps to go! I am grateful for my team and really pleased with the result.”

Phillip Dutton, Olympic bronze medalist, represented the United States on his Irish Sport gelding, Mr. Medicott and finished in fourth place. He also was awarded the USEF Championship Trophy, an award that goes to the highest placed American rider. This is Dutton’s fifth year to win this award and his fortieth time to compete in the Rolex Kentucky Competition.

“It is particularly rewarding to finish as the top US rider,” Dutton said. “It has been a great event and it is the perfect was for Mr. Medicott to finish his four-star career.”

Land Rover is proud to continue to support the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event.
