Land Rover Dallas is proud of Land Rover North America for sponsoring the 2017 Rolex Central Park Horse Show for the fourth year in a row as the official vehicle. the Range Rover Velar and Land Rover Discovery were featured during the event.
The 2017 Rolex Central Park Horse Show featured the inaugural U.S. Open Arena Eventing twelve team competition. This competition was comprised of two rounds as teams of two worked through a track designed by renowned course designed Captain Mark Phillips. The competition had both cross-country elements as well as show jumping.
After the first round of competition, the top six teams were brought back for a second round. Scores were based on the cumulative time from of both partners from round one with two seconds added for each jumping fault.
In the end, a team from Australia, Dom Schramm riding No Objection and Ryan Wood riding Alcatraz, won the title champions of the U.S. Open Arena Eventing twelve team competition.
“The inaugural U.S. Open Arena Eventing competition proved to be an exciting thrilling ride for the crowd tonight at the Central Park Horse Show,” Kim McCullough, Jaguar Land Rover Vice President of Marketing, said. “The final round was a massive crowd pleaser and a real nail biter as the two-man Australian team galloped across the finish line setting the pace for the rest of the teams to chase down their time.”
The U.S. Open $216,000 Grand Prix CSI 3* presented by Rolex was also an event featured at the 2017 Rolex Central Park Horse Show. This Grand Prix event was won by American, Kent Farrington riding Creedance. Farrington, a native Floridian, plans to donate his winnings to the hurricane relief effort.
As a treat to spectators, the last day of the event was Central Park Family Day, and Land Rover had a fleet of miniature electric powered Land Rover replicas for children aged four to ten to enjoy.
