Jaguar Land Rover is excited to announce the 2018 Land Rover Discovery Sport and 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque will both come equipped with Jaguar Land Rover’s all-new 2.0-liter four-cylinder Ingenium petrol engines. These engines will give each vehicle a refined and smooth performance. The Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque are the first Land Rover vehicles to have Jaguar Land Rover’s new petrol Ingenium engines.
The Land Rover Discovery Sport is currently Land Rover’s fastest-selling vehicle. Over 200,000 units have been sold since it debuted in 2014. The new Ingenium engine will give the Discovery Sport power, efficiency, and 35.3 miles/gallon.
The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque made its debut back in 2011. Since then, over 600,000 units have been produced. The new Ingenium engine will be 15 percent more efficient than the Range Rover Evoque’s previous engine and offer 38.7 miles/gallon.
When selecting a Discovery Sport or Range Rover Evqoue for purchase, owners who choose to opt for the Ingenium petrol engine will also receive the Dynamic exterior pack at no additional charge. This extra pack allows for more personalization with luxury finishes to give the vehicle your own flare.
In addition to the petrol engine, Jaguar Land Rover will also have a diesel engine available. The four-cylinder Ingenium diesel engine provides greater levels of torque from low speeds to ensure responsiveness and proper acceleration. The Ingenium diesel engine’s exhaust gas recirculation system reduces pumping losses which increases efficiency and reduces high combustion temperatures. This helps to reduce the NOx from forming in the cylinders.
The new Ingenium petrol and diesel engines will be produced at Jaguar Land Rover’s Engine Manufacturing Center in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom. These are the most advanced engines Jaguar Land Rover has ever designed, engineered, and manufactured. The new Ingenium engines have been made to reduce vehicle emissions and improve fuel economy, keeping with Jaguar Land Rover’s commitment to support more sustainable living.
