Range Rover Evoque Continues to Make a Statement

Land Rover Dallas is pleased to announce the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Five-Door’s latest achievement! According to the 2017 Strategic Vision Total Quality Impact report the Range Rover Evoque Five-Door earned the highest Total Quality score in the Near-Luxury Utility Segment.

“In a few short years, the Range Rover Evoque has become a highly regarded luxury vehicle, known for its dramatic design and luxury appointments,” Joe Eberhardt, Jaguar

Land Rover North America, LLC, President and CEO, said. “To win the Total Quality award confirms that our customers also love it for its features, workmanship and the overall ownership experience.”

This award is based of responses from more than 42,000 new-vehicle buyers during July through December 2016. After buyers have owned their vehicles for 90 days they are surveyed on their experiences with buying, owning, and driving it. The score takes both positive and negative experiences into account.

Buyers that were surveyed said that they “love the feeling of owning a Land Rover and are proud to own the Range Rover Evoque.” The Range Rover Evoque is known for its well thought out engineering, climate control system, interior styling, exterior workmanship, image, and more.

The Range Rover Evoque family includes the Range Rover Evoque Five-Door and the Range Rover Evoque Convertible. They all boast impeccable performance and unsurpassed luxury. Starting in 2017, more new driver assistance features and in-car technologies have been added to the list of available features for the entire Evoque family.

Land Rover North America continues to grow. In June, Land Rover sold 5,760 units. This makes June 2017 the best June sales month ever for Land Rover. Currently, Jaguar Land Rover North America Sales are up 19%, and we at Land Rover Dallas are so proud to be a part of that!

Jaguar Land Rover Highlights Women in STEM Field

In celebration of International Women’s Day in March, Jaguar Land Rover released some new images and announced their partnership with Getty Images, a world leader in visual communication, to highlight the need for more realistic representations of women in STEM roles.

The images of women in STEM roles people usually find are dated and do not properly represent the variety and excitement these women experience in their careers. Jaguar Land Rover and Getty Images are striving to change that. Studies have shown that people searching for photos of women in STEM has risen by 526% in the past year.

“We have always championed women in the car business and are committed to inspiring more girls and women to consider careers in engineering and manufacturing,” Fiona Pargeter, Jaguar Land Rover Global PR Communications Director, said. “Our female workforce has grown from 9% to 11% over the past four years due to our focused STEM initiatives. But this is still far too low – businesses being proactive about using realistic imagery is one of the many ways that we can attract the bright minds we need into STEM careers.”

Jaguar Land Rover and Getty Images released pictures on March 8, 2017, International Women’s Day, of female Jaguar Land Rover employees in roles from aerodynamics to audio and cyber engineering. In addition to properly portraying women in STEM roles, Jaguar Land Rover and Getty Images hopes these pictures help to encourage women to apply for STEM jobs as well.

“Here at Jaguar Land Rover we need the diversity of skills that women bring to ensure we thrive and maintain our competitive edge for years to come,” Michelle Mortiboys, Vehicle Line Director, Jaguar Land Rover, said. “It is well known that gender diversification in business is not just healthy culturally but also propels progressiveness and innovation. Our partnership with Getty Images is not just about recruiting women into engineering, it’s a small part of the work that needs to be done to upscale female employees in the automotive sector as a whole.”

Discovery Assists with Montana River Trip

Photographer, Alex Strohl, intends to make Montana his “permanent” home. Strohl is a travel and adventure photographer with nomad-like tendencies. However, Strohl and his partner, Andrea, fell in love with Montana’s natural beauty and serene winters and decided to put down some roots. A cabin built in Montana’s picturesque countryside is the perfect location for this duo to rest and relax after they come home from their adventures.

However, construction on the cabin came to a halt due to the harsh winter, so Strohl, his cousins, James Byrd and Isaac Johnston, and photographer buddy, RJ Bruni, packed up Strohl’s Land Rover Discovery Sport with the intent of paddling the North Fork of the Flathead River.

“Put simply, the Discovery Sport made the trip happen,” Strohl said. “Just getting to our departure point in peak winter weather was a challenge. The road is unpaved, not always losses and lightly traveled. It carried us with all of our gear and our canoe to the river. We forged a path through the deep snow to the edge of the river so we could unload everything near the water.”

The first day of the winter river trip ended up being more grueling than they thought. Near the beginning they ran into a logjam they had to hike around, and then an ice jam (ice spanning the entire width of the river) a few miles later. Since the first part of the river took longer than they thought, the sun set before they reached their campsite.

The second day of the winter river trip gave the adventurers a break, no ice in sight! They enjoyed a leisurely day of canoeing and lunch on the water. Finally, they paddled to the pickup spot. Andrea had the Land Rover Discovery Sport waiting to get the friends and their gear.

No doubt, this trip would not have been possible had it not been for the Land Rover Discovery Sport and its unrivaled ability to excel on all terrains.

In-Car Spotify App for Land Rover

Spotify, the world’s largest streaming service, and Land Rover have joined forces to create a unique in-car app! The In-Car Spotify App will be able to be personalized based on user’s preferences really revolutionizing the way you listen to music while you drive!

Spotify and Land Rover spent a year working together to create this new technology. The new In-Car Spotify app’s interface is very similar to the Spotify app on users’ smartphones. This allows familiarity for the user which will eliminate distractions while driving. Users will also have the ability to swipe horizontally to look through menus, also eliminating distractions.

“Spotify has more than 100 million subscribers, a portion of whom drive Land Rovers, so we recognized that Spotify was the top of our customers’ apps wish list. The Spotify design team worked closely with us to create the best in-vehicle experience,” says Peter Virk, Director of Connected Technologies and Apps at Jaguar Land Rover.

Similar to Spotify on a user’s smartphone or computer, the in-car app will have the ability to recognize the user’s listening habits so music is better catered to each individual. Personalized playlists with recommended music can be created for each individual. This saves the user time by eliminating the need to scroll through music.

Ricky Wilson, from the Indie Rock band Kaiser Chiefs, and Elliot Gleave, a singer better known by his Stage name, Example, tested out the new In-Car Spotify App before it was launched and shared a variety of different songs they enjoy listening to while they drive. Speaking on the phone while driving, they both shared what was on their playlists and what their favorite songs to listen to while driving are. These include, but are not limited to, songs from Greenday and Morrissey.

Ricky Wilson and Elliot Gleave’s playlists are available for everyone to listen to on Spotify via the official Kaiser Chiefs and Example profiles.
